Ohio Cities

Ohio cities do not keep their own death records. Death certificates and historical death index records are handled at the county level. The county health department issues certificates for deaths from 1908 to the present. The county probate court holds older records from 1867 to 1908. Knowing which county your city falls in is the first step. Select a city below to find out which county handles death records for that area, along with contact info, fees, and local resources.
